ACADEMY PHASE
His younger self continues to be introverted, to the point where most people outside of his class haven’t even heard him speak. The rumors still linger, with other students wondering who he really is, or wondering if Baron Castellaria had illegitimate children.
Drystan generally avoids engaging with people, opening up slowly to his classmates, and those that know him know that he has a kind heart, and is very devoted to his friendships. He seems to have an easier time interacting with those that aren’t from Fódlan, and shows great aversion to his more… flirty classmates, avoiding them like the plague.Drystan can often be found in the library, as he has always shown an interest in the many volumes of the Traveler’s Journal, and in the history of different places.

EARLY LIFE
Drystan is the only son of Baron Castellaria, and heir to the house. He bears the crest of Macuil, one to match with his innate talent for magic- a skill fostered from a very young age.
Not many know of his infancy, even among noble families. Drystan was only openly seen in public at the age of 14, which caused whispers among his father’s peers. After all, they once thought that Castellaria had a daughter instead. This caused Drystan to refuse to speak to people unless it was absolutely necessary.
While always quiet and reclusive, his father encouraged him to enroll the Officer’s Academy at Garreg Mach, becoming part of the Blue Lions.
AZURE MOON
Once the war started, Drystan’s house was quickly crushed under the might of the Empire and merged into the Faerghus Dukedom. Refusing to betray the Kingdom, him and his father barely managed to escape and arrived at a small village within Fraldarius territory, with their people being kind enough to offer them a place to rest before they could reach Lord Rodrigue. His father, Byron, took refuge within house Fraldarius, but Drystan remained behind to protect the village that extended their kindness to them. His talent in magic only kept growing, serving as a powerful tool to keep both bandits and imperial soldiers at bay. The Mistborn Knight became a name that was whispered between allies and foes alike, as someone that was better left alone, lest they found themselves at the edge of his blade. There was, however, a moment when something changed. War leads to scarcity, and Drystan became unable to access his treatments for an extended period of time, leading to a decline in his mental health. This forced him to perform an… experiment of sorts on himself, having heard of similar, albeit highly unethical procedures performed on others.
An extremely painful experience, yet one where there was no turning back once it was done. Many of his features had changed, the most noticeable one being his hair and eyes, having changed in color. His appearance was permanently altered, now not having to worry about different “symptoms” coming back to haunt him.Drystan remains as the protector of that small village until he’s found by the Kingdom’s forces, reuniting with his old friends and classmates, now with a change of look and more willing to open up to them.
